New look, new website, new merch, AND a new season on the way. Lots of "new" things here at Tales Yet Told so why not add a blog as well? If you've been a listener for a while, thank you so much for your support. It genuinely means the world to us and I'm so happy that Tales Yet Told is coming back and better than ever.
If you're new here, then let us introduce ourselves.
We are Tales Yet Told, a queer-led, 🏆AWARD WINNING🏆 Actual Play podcast focused on collaboratively telling stories at the intersection of queerness and horror using Indie TTRPGs!
Now, what the heck does all of that mean? Well, it means that we use indie TTRPGs to tell stories that explore the fullness of what it means to be queer, full of body horror, hair-raising tension, and interpersonal drama. The stories we tell are more than just games we're playing, they are parts of ourselves that we explore together through the framing of improvised play. We get weird, we dig deep, and we imagine new worlds to play in to find some truth about our existence.
As I am writing this we have 2 full seasons and a handful of one-shots to choose from. So how do you know where to start? Let me break things down.
Season 1 is Strangers in the Wood, where we play Babes in the Wood 1e by World Champ Game Co., a PbtA TTRPG based on Over the Garden Wall. Our season is like if you mashed OTGW with The Matrix, The Fly, and a bunch of other 80s sci-fi action and horror movies. Two foster siblings get lost in the woods and find a talking weasel. It’s horrific, it’s heartfelt, and most importantly it’s very queer.
Season 2 is Whispers in the Sea, where we’re playing the Ashcan edition of Rapscallion by Whistler, a PbtA TTRPG where you play as pirates and a strangely magical world. Imagine gay pirates fighting and stealing from oppressive forces and half of them do eldritch magic. They aren't the best people but they’re better than the navy.
The real question though is, are we good? Well here are what some people had to say about us!
Absolutely wonderful Great storytelling, and a wonderful combination of horror and humor. This is a fantastic podcast that breaks away from your standard D&D show, and it’s a breath of fresh air. 10/10 recommend!!!

Hilarious, Scary, Adorable The players are so good at both their roles and their hilarious commentary. Kendrick’s GM-ing and writing is so thrilling that you can’t wait for the story to progress, and unlike other Actual Play podcasts, TYT isn’t inundated with dice rolls and stat discussion or logistics, just pure narrative and action! The characters are lovable, and the world is dark and mysterious and dotted with friends and foes along the way. This show has me rushing through the week in order to hear another episode. Can't wait to see where it goes! Poppycock!
